The answer to your question is a tough one, because infections can be different as well as the treatments. I have had a tooth abscess on three different occasions, and two of those it started feeling better in a couple of days. Make sure you take all of the pills they gave you, otherwise it will come back. The other time, though, I had a hell of a time getting rid of it. I was resistant to two different types of antibiotics, and eventually had to go on prescription painkillers and take injection antibiotics to fix it. But, once we found a medication that would work for that one, it was only a couple of days and I was ten times better. You should see improvement in a couple days. also try some warm salt water


dont swallow it just kinda swish it around


and it has to be really salty, do it about 3 times after every meal and before bed

when I had an abscessed tooth it took about 5-7 days for the swelling to go down. But it may be sooner if you are on a higher dose of antibiotics. Good luck! Hope you feel better.
Usually very quickly. Within a day or two. If after 3 days you do not notice any improvement, call your doctor and they may prescribe a different antibiotic.
