I really want to ger snakebites, two lower lip piercings. Ive asked my mom a few times but she says she doesnt want me to be ';that kinda person'; I think its a beautful piercing and can be very classy. My birthdays in a few months, but I can't find a way to convince her that I can really work the piercings. Any suggestion??How can i convince my mom to let me get a facial piercing?
Coming from both sides I wouldn't suggest just doing it. I don't know you personally but everyone is different I would suggest to prove that you are a responsible teen and show your mother that you are an individual and not copying others. I would also let your mother know that if you get them done now (while your young and in school not working) that by the time it is for you to start working you can easily take them out for work without affecting the healing process. I don't like any lip piercings beacues one of my dads friends had hers done in the 80's and after 20 years the hole is much larger and stretched out from playing around with it all the time. She has a huge hole that when she's not wearing the ring it still looks like it. I waited until I was 17 and half for my piercings (I was able to prove to my overly religious mother that i was mature and responsible) But I waited until 4mo after my 18th birthday to get my tat's so good luck and the world wont come to an endHow can i convince my mom to let me get a facial piercing?
Even if you did convince her to let you get the piercings, you won't find a proffessional piercer who will do them for you. It's illegal to do piercings on people under 16 years (sometimes even 18 years) in most places.
Doing it yourself is really not an option. You'd need a good understanding of anatomy, as well as a good knowledge of body jewelry. The wrong jewerly can result in problems such as gum recession, broken teeth, embedding, migration and rejection, to name but a few.
Piercing yourself could mean you piercing through a vein or major nerve. Also, snakebites pierce through muscle which can be painful and if you were to hit a nerve, it could result in paralysis of the surrounding area.
I'm not trying to put you off the piercing completely, just clarifying where you stand at the moment. I'd say wait a couple of years and get it done when you're the legal age.
Mmm, thirteen is when i got my first lip piercing haha.
Well definatley don't pierce it and repeatedly put it in at school and take it out after school. That does nothing but lead to an infection.
How about using your persuasion skills?
You can comment about your good grades in school, and also helping around the house or doing some other good deeds would have a good effect on her decision.
AND, i got my lip professionally pierced at the age of 13. I just needed my mother to sign a release form.
good luccck
My mom wont even let me get a stud in my nose. Idk why parents are soo sensitive.. lol. you should get the ones you can take out %26amp; put back it. You could put them in at school and take them out after. :) Thats what ima do. lol
